Hey! I am one of the four original La Mesa Hillbillies!
How was this started?
Ummm we were on stage crew in La Mesa JHS . The show was about 2 hours after school ended and instead of going home we stayed at school for those 2 hours and did any last minute preparations.
Once we had done everything we ordered a pizza. Me and two of my friends went outside and waited for a pizza. When we were particularly bored we just started waving at all the cars and screaming 'HI' to anyone passing by.
then one of my friends screamed "WE ARE THE LA MESA HILLBILLIES AND WE ARE HERE TO STAY!"
And we have been screaming that in moments of boredom before a show.
Boredom makes you do weird things. Like me and this page. This thing is just what I made when I had nothing better to do.
We are the La Mesa JHS stage crew and we just come up with the weirdest things… but we're theatre people, we have great imaginations.
